The Chilko property is 5,340 hectares in size and is located 120 kilometres west-southwest of the city of Williams Lake, BC. The property was staked in August, 2007 after reviewing the release of a regional lake sediment survey by Geoscience BC.
Geology
The sampling completed on the property showed a strongly anomalous cluster of values for arsenic-gold-antimony-silver-molybdenum-mercury and selenium. All elements showed several samples in the greater than 90th percentile for the entire map sheet. Regional magnetic maps and local topography suggest strong northwesterly and northeasterly structures in the claim area.
The geochemistry signature indicates the possibility of the presence of an epithermal precious metal system. Similar signatures are known to be associated with epithermal gold occurrences in the Chilko Lake area 60 kilometres to the south. This geochemical signature is also similar to the past producing Blackdome Mine west of Clinton, BC, which exploited epithermal precious metal bearing vein systems.
The compilation of data suggests that a new epithermal precious metal occurrence may underlie the Chilko claims. The lack of exploration in this region and the strength of the trace element geochemistry indicates a good potential for discovering mineralization.
Access
Excellent road access from Williams Lake with logging trails throughout the property.
Status
The property is available for option.
